Introduction

Groupe RPF’s website stores cookies on your device to improve its performance and collect certain traffic statistics via Google Analytics, a free website or application analytics service used by more than 10 million sites.

Please be aware, however, that your privacy is important to us and that we do not collect any personal data without your consent.

Objective

We have developed this Cookie Policy to describe the RPF Group’s use of cookies and the information it collects and stores.

Definitions

The “Act to modernize legislative provisions as regards the protection of personal information,” also known as Bill 25, aims to protect the Quebec population by making organizations responsible for the personal information they hold. This law implies new responsibilities and obligations that will come into force gradually in September 2022, 2023 and 2024. To avoid severe penalties, it is essential that organizations comply with this law.

“Data subject” means any identified or identifiable individual about whom RPF Group collects Personal Information, including, but not limited to, (i) Employees, former, current and prospective, (ii) customers, former, current and prospective, (iii) visitors to our website, and (iv) contractors, contractors, suppliers and suppliers, former, current and potential.

“Personal information” means any information about an identified or identifiable natural person, but excludes information that is not considered Personal Information under the Privacy Act.

A “cookie” is a small text file that is created by the website you are visiting and is stored on your computer or mobile device. Its function is to collect and record certain information about your browsing habits and preferences during your visit to the site. Cookies are used by websites to improve your user experience. For example, they can be used to remember your language preferences, provide you with personalized content, keep you logged in as you navigate from one page to another, track your interactions with the site, analyze traffic, or provide you with targeted advertising.

Why do we use cookies?

Groupe RPF’s website uses cookies to better understand how you use our site and to optimize your browsing experience. We may use cookies to remember your preferences or not to require you to log in every time you visit our website, for example. However, some cookies are essential for the website to function properly.

What types of cookies are used?

To help you understand how useful each cookie you use, below is a description of the three different types of cookies that may be used on our website:

Strictly necessary cookies: These cookies are essential for the basic functionality of our website, such as accessing secure areas of the site and logging into your user account if you have one. These cookies allow users to navigate our website and cannot be disabled.

Analytical cookies : This type of cookie is used to collect information about how visitors use the site. It records data such as the number of visitors, the duration of the visit to the site, the pages visited and the links clicked. This information may then be used to analyze and improve the performance of the site, as well as to understand user preferences and behaviors. Analytical cookies are often used by website owners to gain insights into the effectiveness of their marketing strategies and their website in general.

Third-party cookies: Our website may contain links to other websites or use features from other platforms such as YouTube or LinkedIn. We have no information about the types of cookies used by these other sites and we have no control over them. To find out more, please see the information provided by these third-party sites about their own cookies. Third-party cookies can be used to track the user across different websites and can be used for targeted advertising or demographic data gathering purposes.

How long will cookies last

Cookies remain on your device(s) for different periods of time, depending on whether they are a “persistent” or “session” cookie.

Persistent cookies  remain on the user’s computer even after the browser has been closed. They have a set expiration date and are stored on the user’s hard drive. These cookies are used to remember information such as login credentials, language preferences, and personalization choices. The advantage of persistent cookies is that users do not need to log in every time they visit a website, as login information is already stored through these cookies.

Session cookies  are temporary and are deleted as soon as the user closes the browser. These cookies are used to store temporary information related to the user’s session, such as items added to the shopping cart or current browsing preferences. When the user closes the browser, all this information is lost because the session cookies are cleared.

How do I manage cookies on my device?

Web browsers allow users to control which cookies are stored, but each one works slightly differently. Follow these instructions to learn how to delete and manage cookies in your browser : https://www.avg.com/fr/signal/delete-browser-cookies

Changes to this Cookie Policy:

This Cookie Policy is effective as of June 1, 2024 and supersedes all previous versions.

Privacy legislation is constantly evolving and, as a result, this Cookie Policy may be subject to change by the RPF Group, at its sole discretion and without prior notice or liability to a Data Subject or any other person. The collection, use and disclosure of a Data Subject’s Personal Information by RPF Group will be governed by the version of the policy then in effect.
